Laurel Burch
Embroidered
Professional Tote:
Bernina carries an
embroidery card with lots
of Laurel Burch designs
and I embroidered many of
them out on this colorful
bag prior to sewing the bag
together.
Rosie’s Vera Bradley/Laura Martell
Professional Tote:
Rosie took my class at Sew Original in
Winston-Salem, NC.  She paid me the
“ultimate” compliment during my class.  She
had purchased a Vera Bradley bag at a local
yard sale (amazing find) and then took it all
apart so she could make a Professional Tote
with the Vera Bradley fabric.  She didn’t quite
finish it during class because she was adding
the trim in special places.  Thanks, Rosie it's
beautiful!
Raleigh Purse Variations:
I pre-quilted the floral fabric
before I cut out the front, back
and pocket pieces.  I embroidered
the handbag border on red fabric
and sewed that to the top of the
quilted front and back handbag
pieces, before I sewed any seams
together.  The zipper section,
handles and pocket top were
pre-sewn with a machine
decorative stitch.
Some other Professional Tote ideas!
Ami’s Professional Tote: I made this Professional Tote for Ami Simms at Mallery Press. Ami
designed the fabric line and I made it into a bag for her.  The front has whole strawberries in the
background and the front pocket is a lattice crust fabric.  The back view has the strawberries with
lattice crust for a large back pocket.  In the center of the pocket are 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
fabric from Ami’s fabric line and I added the chocolate sprinkles.  The inside of the bag has a “crust”
lining with sliced strawberries and blueberry pockets and a grape center zippered pocket.
My newest pattern, "As
You Like It" Purse shown
here has unlimited options

Annette Praay made this beautiful Janet's Jewelry
Case as a "Sewing Traveling Case". Annette
made this for her Mom who carries this with her
when she travels. She puts the scissors in the
necklace area, thimbles on the ring holder and
pins on the earring/pin holder. And adds small
sewing supplies in the two pockets. Thanks
Annette for a great idea!
Ann Thompson took a picture of an Iris
blooming in her yard and added it to the
front pocket of her Raleigh Purse. What
a beautiful way to carry your garden with
you.
